SWEET BEE TEA
1 ½ oz J.P. Trodden Black Label Bourbon or Bolster Road Maple Rye
1 oz Orange Honey Syrup*
½ oz Water
½ oz Lemon Juice (fresh, or a high quality not-from-concentrate juice)
Garnish: Orange slice
*To make Orange Honey Syrup, bring 1 cup water to boil and add 2 Tazo Sweet Orange tea bags. Let steep for 10 minutes. Remove tea bags, and then add 1 cup of honey (the more local, the better!) and let dissolve. Return to heat if needed for the honey to dissolve. Remove from heat, let cool, and store in airtight jar for 1 week in refrigerator.
Combine all ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice and vigorously shake for 20 seconds. The honey syrup is quite viscous and needs a good shake to emulsify into the drink. Strain into a chilled Coupe and garnish with an orange slice.
